Are your posts winding up always just a tad too short? Are you dissastisfied with the level of writing and description? Well here're some tips to help describe your characters better!
Describe some of if not all of the following, and remain consistent in your references to these things!
-Hair: What style haircut does your character have? What colour? Does it move when they jump?
-Skin: What colour is your character's skin? What texture- soft, rough, somewhere between?
-Scars: Does your character have any scars? What do these scars look like? Where did they come from?
-Eyes: How do your character's eyes look? What colour are they? What size?
-Clothing: What is your character wearing? Is it unusual in any way? What is notable about your character's attire?
-Clothing style: Though not very far off from current clothing, think about what your character is wearing now compared to in general. Does it fit their paradigm?
-Tattoos: Does your character have any tattoos? Where? Are they visible now? What does the tattoo represent, if anything? What's the story behind the tattoo?
-Facial expression: Is your character's face expressive- can you read their emotions or are they playing a poker face?
-Hands: Big hands or little hands, fidgety or still?
-Size: How big or small is your character? Describe their weight and height to give life to their actions! It makes a difference!
-Piercings: Does your character have any piercings? Where? Why? How long have they had these piercings and do they like them?
-Voice: How does your character sound? Is their voice pleasant or unpleasant, loud or quiet?
Try making a character sheet with the information from this article and fill it out for each play! Keep it nearby when you intend on writing a post and look at it when you're stuck for a line or two- there's always room to further describe your character. Hope this helps,
Liebe Grüße,
